“A Pomegranate for Breakfast”, is a still-life of a pomegranate from my Aunt Natalie’s tree in her lush Southern California front yard. Her tree grows only a few pomegranates each year, and to her dismay, are often taken by the neighbors. With a new sign that encourages mindfulness of passerby’s and a vow to never plant a fruit-baring tree in her front yard again, I felt honored to paint (and eat!) this pomegranate for breakfast.
